VANCOUVER, BC – May 16, 2018 – LifeSciences BC President and CEO, Dr. Lesley Esford and Board of Director’s Chair, Nancy Harrison, are pleased to congratulate Sue Paish on her appointment as CEO of the Digital Technology Supercluster. In her new role Paish will be responsible for building and leading the digital supercluster initiative based in BC, for Canada.
The Digital Technology Supercluster is one of five federally supported superclusters focused on generating new jobs, growing GDP and increasing Canada’s global competitiveness through the application of data analytics, quantum computing and virtual mixed/augmented reality. More than 350 organizations are members of the Digital Technology Supercluster, including major employers and innovators from sectors including healthcare, telecommunications, natural resources, computing and transportation.
“We are proud to see our esteemed colleague and partner to be the first CEO of BC’s Supercluster Initiative.” commented Dr. Esford. “This B.C. Supercluster Initiative will have access to a portion of the nearly $1 Billion allocated from Ottawa to pursue initiatives in public-private partnerships and collaboration in innovation. The availability of working capital will greatly accelerate the growth of the ecosystem.”
Prior to this appointment, Sue has served as CEO of Pharmasave Drugs (National) Ltd. from 2007-2012. She was also honoured earlier this year with Business in Vancouver’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Influential Women in Business ceremonies. Nancy Harrison said of the appointment, “Sue is a strong leader with a proven ability to develop and execute a vision. The Board and Members of LSBC are excited that the Digital Supercluster is moving to the next stage of development and we will work with Sue and her team to help enable its success in every way we can.”
