DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Janet Rossant\, PhD \nJanet Rossant\, CC\, PhD\, FRS\, FRSC is Senior Scientist and Chief of Research Emeritus at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and President and Scientific Director of the Gairdner Foundation. She is an internationally recognized developmental and stem cell biologist\, exploring the biology of the early embryo and its stem cells and their applications to understanding and treating human disease. She has also been actively involved in ethics and public policy discussions around stem cell research and genetic modifications. She led the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children from 2005 to 2015. She has received many honours and recognition for her work\, including six honorary degrees\, and election to the Royal Societies of London and Canada and the US National Academy of Sciences. In 2018 she received the N. Though 2020 was a challenging year\, there were lots of successes in the sector and LSBC looked forward to celebrating them. The event was held on the Remo platform with virtual tables where attendees were able to move around to meet other attendees. Attendees were encouraged to have their favourite beverage close by to offer a cheer. LSBC also hosted a life sciences trivia game with a special prize.

This event helped connect life sciences companies and organizations from across the sector with access to talent. \nThis event was one of the key events in the life sciences community calendar and featured dynamic speakers\, a job fair and networking with key members of the life sciences sector. \nTo maximize the networking opportunities\, attendees were able to connect virtually to arrange meetings through the LifeSciences BC Event App. \nThis event was held at the Sheraton Wall Centre in the Pavilion Ballroom and allowed attendees to network for four hours while also offering a buffet lunch for attendees.
