On September 14, 2023, we celebrated the 25th Annual Life Sciences BC Awards presented by Farris. This distinguished occasion provided a unique opportunity for British Columbia’s vibrant life sciences community to gather and celebrate its members’ outstanding achievements and recognize the tireless efforts of those who have devoted their careers to advancing health innovations.
Embracing its status as Canada’s fastest-growing life sciences sector, our BC ecosystem is currently witnessing unparalleled momentum in scientific discovery, innovation, capital attraction, and the cultivation of talent. This remarkable progress extends beyond geographical boundaries, positively impacting patient health on a global scale while building a resilient and sustainable life science sector within our local community.
The Life Sciences BC Awards celebrated and honored the exceptional individuals and organizations that served as catalysts in propelling the sector forward.
Building upon the success of last year, we were delighted to offer not one but TWO excellent ways to be a part of this extraordinary event. Alongside the distinguished central Awards Gala room, we were excited to reintroduce the highly popular Awards Networking and Viewing Reception Room.
Networking and Viewing Reception Overview:
We were pleased to announce the return of the popular Networking and Viewing Reception room, adjacent to the main gala. This engaging space featured elegant cocktail tables and comfortable theatre-style seating. As an alternative to a sit-down dinner, guests at the reception were treated to a variety of delectable, stationed food options.
The ceremony was livestreamed in the reception room, ensuring that our Networking and Viewing Reception guests could enjoy every moment of the awards program.
Before and after the event, as well as during breaks, guests at the Networking and Viewing Reception had the chance to engage with Gala ticket holders in the shared foyer.
Networking and Viewing Reception Inclusions:
- A delectable selection of stationed canapés.
- One drink ticket per guest can be redeemed for a choice of wine, beer, or a refreshing soft drink.
- Excellent networking opportunities, providing the chance to connect with sector supporters and stakeholders.
- A relaxed and informal viewing environment, allowing guests to enjoy the awards ceremony in a more laid-back setting via live stream

Gala Overview: SOLD OUT!
The Awards gala was held in the main ballroom on the 3rd floor of the Vancouver Convention Centre West. Attendees of the main gala enjoyed a three-course plated meal, with an optional glass of wine, while experiencing the live awards ceremony from their assigned guest tables.
Throughout the event, guests had the opportunity to engage in networking activities before and after the gala and during breaks in the shared foyer. This provided a chance to connect with fellow gala ticket holders and guests attending the Networking and Viewing Reception.
