Exquisite Biomedical Consulting (EBC) is a boutique life sciences consultancy firm, specializing in Medical Affairs, Clinical and Regulatory Strategy, and Evidence Generation for medical device, regenerative medicine, diagnostics, and digital health companies.
We partner with life sciences manufacturers during concept through commercialization of novel medical products, and offer services such as fractional Chief Medical Officer, medical, clinical and regulatory strategy, literature and evidence development, medical writing, and business development.
We are growing our client base and partnerships and are seeking a Business Development and Sales Associate to help us expand our impact.
Role Overview
The Business Development and Sales Associate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities for EBC across North America and select global markets.
This role goes beyond traditional sales; it focuses on long-term value creation, strategic positioning, and relationship building with:
- Medical device and biotech companies
- Clinical research organizations
- Digital health and AI/ML companies with life sciences industry related platforms
- Investors, incubators, and accelerators
- Established MedTech and pharma organizations seeking specialized consulting support
You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to translate EBC’s technical strengths into clear, compelling service offerings, build a robust opportunity pipeline, and convert opportunities into sustainable client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy and Market Development
- Develop and refine a business development strategy aligned with EBC’s vision, service lines, and target client segments.
- Create, draft and identify selling tools, executive summaries and appropriate messaging per target group.
- Execute and report on marketing campaigns, social media activity, web, and print messaging.
- Map and prioritize target markets.
- Identify and pursue opportunities.
- Opportunity Generation and Pipeline Management
- Build and maintain a qualified opportunity pipeline, from first contact to signed agreements.
- Proactively conduct market research and reach out to potential clients and partners via phone, email, LinkedIn, conferences, and network introductions.
- Qualify opportunities based on fit (clinical/regulatory/medical needs, timelines, budget, and strategic potential).
- Maintain accurate records in a Client Relationship Management (CRM) or tracking system.
- Client Relationship
- Serve as a trusted first point of contact for prospective clients, understanding their strategic, clinical, and regulatory needs.
- Coordinate and participate in intro and scoping calls with EBC leadership and subject matter experts.
- Support account growth by identifying cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within existing clients.
- Help maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, and ecosystem partners.
- Proposal, Contracting and Deal Execution
- Translate client needs into clear, structured content useful for creating scopes of work and proposals, in collaboration with EBC leadership.
- Draft and refine proposals, project budgets, and timelines for consulting engagements.
- Support negotiation of terms, ensuring alignment with EBC’s value, risk profile, and capacity.
- Liaise with prospective clients and EBC leadership to finalize contracts and ensure smooth handover to project teams.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 2 years of experience in sales related to life sciences and consulting, and at least 2 years of experience in marketing and social media, preferably in:

- Medical devices, biotech, pharma, digital health, or
- Life sciences / healthcare consulting.
- Demonstrated track record of originating and closing B2B service engagements.
- Experience working in growing organizations where roles are flexible and hands-on.
- Permanent authorization to work in Canada
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD, MD, MPH, MBA) or equivalent experience in life sciences or business.
- Experience working with start-ups, accelerators, incubators, or investors in healthcare/MedTech.
- Familiarity with medical device regulations, clinical evidence requirements, and reimbursement landscapes (US, Canada, EU).
- Familiarity with clinical trials, Medical Affairs, or health technology evaluation a plus.
- Experience with AI/ML companies in healthcare or validation of AI-enabled tools.
