Eupraxia is also developing a pipeline of later- and earlier-stage long-acting formulations. Potential pipeline indications include candidates for both other inflammatory joint indications and oncology, each designed to improve the activity and tolerability of currently approved drugs. Job Description:
Eupraxia is dedicated to advancing healthcare through innovation and data-driven decision-making. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science and Pharmacokinetic Modeling Scientist to cover a maternity period of not less than 12 months to maintain and evolve our programs designed to deliver appropriate, robust and defensible data in a readily understandable manner. They will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining related documentation for relevant due diligence exercises, ensuring the content is comprehensive and structured to make the most complex issues and analyses accessible to lay personnel. In addition to performing standard pharmacokinetic analyses, this person will be responsible for leveraging advanced inferential tools and pharmacokinetic modeling to drive strategic insights and competitive intelligence.
Reports to: Chief Science Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development and application of pharmacokinetic models to optimize drug development processes.
- Perform standard pharmacokinetic analysis of non-clinical and clinical data.
- Provide expert statistical and data modeling advice in designing and reviewing analysis and reporting plans for pre-clinical and clinical programs.
- Create models that tie pharmacokinetic data to efficacy and safety endpoints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate pharmacokinetic insights into overall drug development strategies.
- Interacting with regulatory authorities to resolve data and modeling issues relating to the design, analysis and reporting of pre-clinical and clinical studies used in regulatory submissions.
- Design and implement visualizations to communicate complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
- Utilize cutting-edge visualization tools to present findings to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Builds and maintains relationships with professionals and organizations in the Pharma/Bioscience industry.
- Maintains an ongoing comprehensive analysis of developments in the pharmaceutical environment.
- Provides strategic insights and recommendations based on competitive intelligence to guide and influence the entirety of internal programs.
Requirements:
- A master’s or PhD in mathematics, statistics, pharmacometrics, data science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in pharmacokinetic modeling and data visualization, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with skills for pharmaceutical formulation development, such as pharmacokinetic modeling, experiment design, and the use of ordinary and partial differential equations for formulation design, is an asset.
- High proficiency and strong hands-on experience with the programming language R, specifically in relation to creating graphs with ggplot2 and using other packages like plyr to analyze and manipulate data, are essential.
- Expertise in other programming languages, such as Python, and domain-specific tools, such as NONMEM, is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative mindset.
- Ability to handle and derive insights from complex datasets.
Preferred Qualifications and Expertise:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry; familiarity with non-clinical and clinical research is an asset, as in the ability to translate from one to the other.
- Worked in a small to medium-sized biotech, a plus.
- Familiarity with competitive intelligence practices.
- Publications or patents demonstrating contributions to the field.
- Excellent analytical and planning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Salary Range: CAD$ 90,000 – 110,000 annually
Within the posted range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only. A bonus will be available based upon performance and remaining in post for the agreed contract duration. We also have a competitive benefits package on offer.
