Job Title: Memberships and Sponsorships Specialist
Role Type: Co-op placement
Duration: 16 weeks minimum (possible extension)
Hours: (Full time) 37.5 hours per week
Pay Rate: $18/hr
Contract Period: April 27 – September 4, 2026

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office – Downtown Vancouver)
Requirements:
- Be a current fulltime or part-time student registered in a postsecondary program in Canada, international students are not eligible.
- Be a Canadian citizen, or a permanent resident in Canada.
- Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
Organization Background: Life Sciences BC (LSBC) is a not-for-profit sector association dedicated to advancing British Columbia’s life sciences ecosystem through strategic initiatives at the local, national, and international levels. We drive economic growth in the province by providing leadership, fostering investment and partnerships, collaborating with government, and promoting BC’s world-class life sciences sector.
Team: Life Sciences BC has a team of eight people that work together across a broad spectrum of projects that involves government, the educational sector and industry, with the goal of creating a better society through the advancement of the life sciences sector.
The Role: Life Sciences BC is looking for an enthusiastic new co-op student to help maximize potential revenue opportunities and lead generation throughout the term.
This role offers a dynamic blend of tasks and projects, providing a fantastic opportunity for the selected candidate to immerse themselves in the operations of a professional sciences industry association.
By joining the LSBC team, the selected candidate will gain invaluable insight into the thriving Life Sciences community in BC, enriching their professional journey with hands-on experience and networking opportunities. This position will report to the Manager, Memberships and Sponsorships.
Our ideal candidate adapts well in a small, dynamic team, as they gain experience working across a breadth of areas. If chosen for an interview, the candidate must be able to demonstrate how they can quickly learn processes and show initiative as this role requires the candidate to work independently and as part of a team. Scope of Position:
- Membership: Welcome new members to the association and facilitate the onboarding process
- Research: Research a variety of new revenue opportunities
- Events: Attend LSBC’s events and network with fellow LSBC members
- Job Board: Manage the LSBC job board and provide customer service
- Sponsorships: Draft sponsorship agreements for events and LSBC sponsors
- Invoicing: Work closely with accounting to issue invoices related to memberships and sponsorships
- Marketing: Create email marketing templates and marketing collateral
- Analytics: Analyze reports from our business software including SalesForce
