Description

ABOzymes is a privately-owned biotechnology company based in Vancouver that is making blood types obsolete by developing medical devices to convert donated organs or blood porducts to the universal donor type: group O. Our devices utilize ABOzymes' patent pending enzyme technology to change blood group antigens to H antigens, defining the universal group O. The devices are designed to work in an ex vivo process outside of the body. Having universal organs and blood means eliminating the blood-matching barrier, which would prioritize patients by medical urgency, wasting less organs and ensuring a more reliable supply of universal donor blood, needed to save the lives of patients.
