Reports to:                         Manager or Supervisor, Quality Control

Status:                                 Regular, Full-time, Contract

Location:                             Building 1527, Delta, BC

Summary:

Perform Quality Control analysis of raw materials, intermediates and APIs.  Support and promote continuous improvement of Phyton Biotech’s QC and QA systems. 

Primary Responsibilities (others may be assigned, as required):

  • Performs raw material sampling
  • Performs routine QC testing, including HPLC and GC Analysis for raw materials, intermediates, stability testing and product release
  • Supports continuous improvement of the Quality Control GMP systems and Phyton Biotech’s Quality Systems
  • Performs analytical method development and validation. Performs method troubleshooting as required
  • Generates SOPs, test methods, deviations, investigations, change controls and certificate of analysis
  • Must have hands on experience with HPLC’s and/or GC’s
  • Performs review of analytical data
  • Perform or assist in support of Development Services analytical testing
  • Performs laboratory housekeeping
  • Assists with internal and customer audits
  • Must be able to train and mentor junior department members

Approval Authorizations

  • Authorized to approve Certificates of Analysis of Raw Materials and Intermediates
  • Authorized to approve QC Instrument Qualifications

Required Experience, Skills, & Abilities:

  • 2 – 5 years of Quality Control experience with HPLC/GC required
  • BS in Chemistry or Life Sciences related discipline required
  • Must have hands on experience working with chemicals and solvents
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks, such as heavy lifting
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • Must be proficient with technical writing
  • Must be able to work effectively with testing instruments
  • Detail-oriented with an eye for quality and accuracy
  • Collaborative, but comfortable working autonomously with strong interpersonal skills
  • Effectively participate in cross-functional teams to achieve common objective
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
