ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The duties of this position will involve supporting and/or leading a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement diverse projects for the treatment of neurodegenerative and anti-inflammatory diseases and cancer.

The R&D group is responsible for designing, characterizing and optimizing a variety of discovery candidates using antibody and antibody drug conjugate. The ideal candidate must have in-depth and hands-on expertise in molecular biology and cell biology to support the design, generation and evaluation of antibody therapeutics in the R&D group. The candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrixed environment to design, execute, interpret and communicate diverse research studies for one or more projects utilizing good scientific judgment and strong team skills. Will report to Senior Scientist.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (essential functions required to be performed by the incumbent):

Expertise in current technology practices in molecular biology and cell biology is required, which includes cell based assays, gene expression/knockdown, Western Blotting, qPCR, DNA cloning, etc.

Experience with cell-based assays development, testing and troubleshooting
is preferred.
Ability to independently design experiments, make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results and deliver timely results.
Excellent presentation and oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability to prepare precise technical summaries and protocols and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
Strong sense of urgency, initiative, ethics/integrity and innovation is required.
Experience in flow cytometry is preferred.

Bonus
Knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistry and laboratory experience working with oligonucleotides (formulation & delivery systems)
Experience with in vivo rodent models (Cancer, Alzheimers, Psoriasis, etc.)

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: (describe complexity of internal and external relationships in the performance of the position)

This position will require interface at all levels throughout R&D and infrequently throughout the rest of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years work experience with Ph.D. or Master degree with at least 6+ years of experience in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related disciplines

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
