Myeloid Enhancement (ME) Therapeutics is a preclinical stage, Vancouver based biotechnology company involved in the discovery and development of novel immuno-oncology therapeutics targeting immune suppression in cancer. Our focus is on overcoming the suppressive effects of an important class of immune cells called myeloid cells to enhance anti-cancer immunity.
ME Therapeutics is currently seeking a candidate to fill the position of Scientist - Immunology. The candidate will be responsible for leading a small team in the development of novel mRNA-based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune disease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and design pre-clinical research programs to advance mRNA-based drug candidates to clinical trials.
- Oversee and conduct in vivo mouse cancer studies, including xenograft and syngeneic tumor models.
- Perform and supervise in vitro and in vivo immunology studies to evaluate the effects of lead drug candidates on immune responses.
- Develop, optimize, and implement novel immunoassays, including tissue culture, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
- Provide scientific leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior scientists and research associates.
- Stay up to date with the latest scientific advancements and contribute to strategic decision-making in drug development.
- Author and review detailed protocols, reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Present scientific findings to senior management, external stakeholders, and at scientific conferences.
- Prepare and submit progress reports for funding agencies and other regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide all aspects of drug development within the company.
- Contribute to intellectual property filings and scientific publications.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, or a related biological science.
- A minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience in cancer immunology research, evidenced by peer-reviewed scientific publications and/or industry contributions.
- Extensive experience with xenograft and syngeneic mouse cancer models.
- Expertise in flow cytometry, immune profiling, and biomarker discovery.
- Strong hands-on experience with tissue culture, cell line maintenance, and immunology/molecular biology assays.
- Experience in molecular biology (mRNA) is an asset
- Proven ability to think independently, develop testable hypotheses, and translate research findings into actionable insights.
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in writing regulatory reports and scientific manuscripts.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment.
