Fluoroscopy is a powerful real-time x-ray imaging technique which is widely used in minimally invasive surgeries, such as cardiovascular and gastrointestinal procedures. While these procedures offer faster recovery compared to open surgery, fluoroscopy exposes patients and medical staff to significant radiation risks. Ikomed’s AEGIS system uses a fast electro-mechanical shutter, combined with AI and image processing, to automatically reduce radiation by more than 60%, without compromising image quality. Clinically proven and FDA-cleared, AEGIS is integrated into commercial x-ray systems in partnership with a leading OEM partner, with over 60 installations to-date across hospitals in the United States.

ATMOS is a proprietary device for non-invasive treatment of emphysema, a type of COPD (Chronic-Obstructive-Pulmonary-Disease) using RF radiation. It has been successfully proven on rodents in collaboration with the St. Paul’s Hospital Heart and Lung Innovation Center, under the leadership of Professor Don Sin, and is now being tested on large animals on path to human trials.
The company did a successful fundraising in 2021.
With funds raised, together with AEGIS sales revenue and government support (SRED and more) the company is in solid financial position.
