MSFHR’s 2021 Suite of Funding Opportunities will Enable Innovative Health Research Across BC

January 14, 2021
Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research

A new year brings a new suite of funding opportunities for BC’s health researchers. As BC’s health research funding agency, MSFHR is pleased to announce our 2021 funding competition lineup, reflecting rigorous program evaluation and direct input from BC’s health research community.

Our funding programs are designed to attract, develop and retain BC’s health research talent including and contribute to addressing BC health priorities. This includes our continued support of British Columbians through the pandemic and our province’s economic recovery by investing in and supporting health care.

Since 2001 we have funded more than 1,700 individual researchers and 200 research teams through MSFHR funding programs and supported many more through special projects and match funding. Via these outstanding health researchers, we support research across all four pillars of health research (biomedical, clinical, population health, and health services) and the translation of that research to new treatments, cures, practices, and solutions that improve the health of British Columbians.
