MedTech Talent Accelerator – Students Available for Jan, May, Sept 2022

The MedTech Talent Accelerator would like to help bring continued innovation and creativity to the MedTech industry by providing your teams with the ability to directly find, interview and hire industry-ready new talent to fill your organization’s talent needs.
What is the MedTech Talent Accelerator?
The MedTech Talent Accelerator is a training program designed to launch the next generation of industry-ready talent for the Canadian Medical Technology sector. The program is a collaboration between RU, McGill University, Dalhousie University, University of Calgary, University of British Columbia, Biomedical Zone, Medtech Canada and its member companies.
**NEW** MedTech Talent Acquisition Service
We mean it when we say we want to accelerate talent for the MedTech industry. We just launched a new MedTech Talent Acquisition Service (TAS) powered by Burning Glass’s LENS Suite, their state-of-the-art job posting and resume skills parsing technology. You can now:
- Simply copy/paste or upload a pdf of your job posting and click “sort” in our TAS, and our live talent database will display the best skills matched talent available right now for your talent need.
- You can also review the talent’s resume, pitch to industry, and a 1-min video interview sample to thoroughly review a candidate
- Ready to interview? simply select the candidates you like, click next, and follow the prompts to submit an interview request. We will have it in your calendar within 2-business days!
Our talents are ready to hit the ground running in your business, at the lowest possible cost to you:
- Mature talent pool: Our program provides a pool of final term co-op and final-year students, and new graduates (Bachelors, Masters and PhD) from a wide variety of technical programs (Science and Engineering).
- Industry-designed MedTech training: Once selected, talent are trained about the MedTech industry before their internship. In doing so, it ensures they have a holistic understanding of the industry. The training includes:
- MedTech Business (regulatory affairs, ISO standards, financing, etc)
- MedTech R&D (clinical trials, ethics, product development, etc)
- Virtual Clinical Immersion Training (how healthcare systems work)
- Professional Development (EDI, Transferable Skills Development
- Minimize the cost of internship – We make it as low cost as possible for the company to hire our talent as interns by fully facilitating government matching program applications such as:
- BioTalent Wage subsidy programs – $2,500-$5,000 from company; the wage subsidy program provides additional $5,000-$7,500 for a total of $10,000 per 4-month internship for the talent
- Mitacs – $5,000-$7,500 from company; Mitacs provides additional $5,000-7,500 for a total of either $10,000 or $15,000 per 4-month internship for the talent

Ask: Please find the January, May and Sept. 2022 cohort of internship candidates for consideration in our MedTech Talent Acquisition Service (TAS; If you have any issues accessing the service, please let us know). Candidates will be selected on a first-come-first-serve basis. All candidates you see remain available. Once chosen, the candidates will be removed from the public list.
Next-Steps: To select candidates to interview, please identify the candidates you want to interview in Section 1 of the TAS. fill out organization details in Section 2, and provide your interview availability in Section 3 to submit the form. We will confirm the interview time with the candidates and issue a Zoom call calendar invite within the availability you provide in 2 business days to move the selection process forward.
