CLAIRE NELSON

MANAGER, EVENTS

Claire Nelson is the Events Manager for Life Sciences BC (LSBC), where she both leads and manages logistics for the 30+ events held throughout the year – ranging from smaller workshops to large-scale signature events. In her role, Claire oversees critical event components which include online platform management, content and program alignment, speaker training and coordination, vendor and sponsor relations, membership engagement and event marketing. As part of the management team, Claire is responsible for ensuring that LSBC events bring the life sciences community together to network, learn, grow and celebrate success.

Before joining the LSBC team in 2021, Claire spent 15+ years working in events management, customer service and food service roles, including leadership and management roles at Hazelmere Golf and Country Club and for a major restaurant chain.

Claire has a Double Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Certifications in First Nations Cultural Tourism and Assisting Travelers with Disabilities – all from the Canadian Tourism College. She also has Foundation Level Certification with the International Air Transport Association.

Outside work, Claire is very passionate about crafting, and her talents include macrame wall hangings, crocheted sweaters, wooden furniture building and getting creative with her Cricut cutting machine. She currently resides in sunny South Delta.
