The BCIT Biotechnology faculty deliver advanced hands-on training in a variety of life science disciplines, including microbiology, immunology, molecular genetics, protein biochemistry, process systems and animal & plant cell biology. Students enrolled in the Biotechnology Program earn a joint BCIT-UBC Honours B.Sc. degree. Students complete multiple co-operative education work terms during the course of their degree, and are frequently employed in the BC Life Sciences sector upon graduation. Some of the faculty also conduct applied research in topics ranging from plant science to human health to biofuel production.
