About
The life sciences sector is rapidly expanding in British Columbia, and for good reason. Groundbreaking research within the province has yielded some of the world’s most promising breakthroughs in life-saving innovations and has enhanced the overall well-being of Canadians nationwide. Very quickly, B.C. has become a global star due to the tireless efforts of dedicated life scientists and the cutting-edge facilities and research centers that support their endeavors.
Join us for this event moderated by BIV publisher and executive editor Kirk LaPointe, which will celebrate the legacy and impact of Dr. Helen Burt. A founding scientist of adMare’s predecessor, The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD), Dr. Burt has had an esteemed career as a Professor of Drug Delivery in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She has published more than 160 peer-reviewed papers and holds eight patents.
Our panel will feature some of the leaders in this sector who will discuss Dr. Burt’s impact as well as the evolution of the life sciences industry in British Columbia and will shed light on its potential to become one of the province’s most defining and impactful economic drivers.
