On Friday, February 1, and Saturday, February 2, 2019, LifeSciences BC invited attendees for a special night at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, as Maestro Bramwell Tovey made his return as VSO Music Director Emeritus after 18 extraordinary years as the longest-serving Music Director in the VSO’s century-long history. Tovey conducted a piece by the very first composer he commissioned as Music Director, featuring the VSO’s former Principal Cello Ariel Barnes and harpist Heidi Krutzen. This concert also featured the towering sonic architecture of Bruckner’s Symphony No. 6. LSBC members were provided with a special offer on tickets to attend the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
